There have been over 18,000 SMART Recovery Self-Help Group meetings in Massachusetts since 1990. All groups are lead by volunteers, most of whom are graduates of the SR Program. SR meetings occur weekly in hospitals (e.g., MGH, McLean, Mount Auburn, Salem, Jordan, Lahey Clinic, etc.), a few in community facilities (e.g., Middlesex Community College) and several in prisons. CR celebrates God's healing power through 8 Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes and the traditional 12 Steps. This weekly experience facilitates change in our lives. A group for people who like to socialize at bars and restaurants but want to avoid drinking too much or drinking under the wrong circumstances. Keep people in that happy place without getting drunk, while avoiding the abstinence crowd. We will help members limit intake to one per hour or less and keep each other entertained with conversation and non-alcoholic options.
